When is the best season?
November to April is the dry season — less rain, calmer sea. May to October is cheaper, and it is when the manta rays come.
How many nights?
Seven is the minimum that justifies the flight. Ten is more comfortable if you are going by seaplane.
Seaplane or speedboat?
Boats are cheaper and run at night. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, so a late flight means a night in Malé first.
Children?
Under-12s stay free at selected resorts. Some islands are adults-only — we check before booking.
